As a great achievement, Vibercon Ltd. (partner company of Nord Consult Ltd.) together with its 21 project partner has won funding from HORIZON 2020 programme in the call topic of Smart Cities and Communities (SCC-01-2014). The sub-programme's scope is to identify, develop and deploy replicable, balanced and integrated solutions in the energy, transport, and ICT actions through partnerships between municipalities and industries. These solutions at the intersection of the three sectors will have a holistic approach and are still facing first mover risk. These will be the lighthouse projects as identified by the Communication on Smart Cities and Communities. Lighthouse projects will target primarily large scale demonstration of replicable SCC concepts in city context where existing technologies or very near to market technologies will be integrated in an innovative way.

The particular project to be implemented by the consortium is for the elaboration and application of a so-called City Regeneration Model which will be based on the high level innovation of the sectors of ICT, energy  and transport.

The project has an implementation period of 60 month and a total budget of  almost 24 million EUR including 21,5 million EUR non-refundable subsidy. The subsidy intensity varies from 70 to 100 percent depending on the non- or for-profit status of the particular project partner.
